The Farmer’s Daughter
When I was in the army, quite some years ago, and had finished my basic training and went on my first pass home after 3 months I was supposed to take the train. My base was a very long way away from where I lived and it would take almost 40 hours by train to get home so I decided to chance it and hitchhike. My pass was only 7 days and I wanted to try and have as much of it at home as possible.
There was a stretch between the town where my base was close to and the next town of several hundred miles with basically nothing in between but farmland. The hitchhiking went poorly, there was little traffic and people were weary of picking up a hitchhiker and so I eventually found myself basically in the middle of nowhere with the sun just about set when an old farmer picked me up and took me to his farm to overnight.
His daughter didn’t look like this girl at all but I had not seen any girls for a long time. It so happens that she was in a similar mood. What a fun stay over that was.
